The Bridge River Valley Community Association (BRVCA) is a non-profit
organization dedicated to giving voice to the unique people of the Bridge River
Valley, balancing growth to ensure a viable future, protecting the natural
beauty and resources of the valley, and keeping the history of the Bridge River
Valley alive. We act as a decentralized “umbrella” to the many groups and
committees in our area, which means we offer advertising, shared insurance,
one-stop-shop administration, year-round visitor services, funding access,
grant writing, and much more. The scale and scope of services provided to the
community is significant and ranges from heritage resources such as the
Bralorne Church or the Gold Bridge Cemetery to geographic based community
committees for LaJoie Lake, Bralorne, and Marshall Lake.
Much more information on BRVCA can be found at:
Board members are actively involved in organizational governance with a special
focus on financial accountability and controls, risk and liability management,
legal issues and policy leadership.
The board needs a variety of skills - with a strong emphasis currently on board
candidates with accounting, bookkeeping, or related experience as well as a
special need for public relations expertise. We are also looking for Board
members with connections to Bralorne, Tyaughton Lake, and Gun Creek Rd. But
first and foremost, we are looking for board candidates with a strong
commitment to the purpose of BRVCA who are willing to attend 4-5 meetings a
year with the odd additional workshop.
The Nominating Committee is accepting expressions of interest. Those interested
in board service can email us at bridgerivervalley@gmail.com
