Sept 3
5:15pm
Some wind from the north
A light rain right now and has been on and off all day.
Pumps were started on the East side today.
SP is taking down the protection on the West side. Doug left today, he felt like the West side was secure from danger.
The BCWF continue to work on hotspots on the South and South East end of lake.
Jeff and Sue remain at lake to keep an eye on things, fill owner pumps and start when needed.
RCMP were at the lake for a substantial amount of time today, keeping an eye on things, it was great to see.
A conservation officer also pulled us over on the way back from town getting gas and supplies. It's good to know that the RCMP and conservation are keeping an eye out in the evacuation zone.

Downton Lake (K71649) - 9,393 ha
Casper Creek (K71535) - 10,892 ha
Nomad Creek (K73144) - 16 ha
Overview
After a return of hot and dry conditions on Friday and Saturday, temperatures are expected to cool, with maximums in the low 20s and relative humidity between 50 and 60 per cent. Fog in the morning should clear by afternoon and a trace to 2 mm of precipitation are expected over the Bendor Range Complex. Increased cloud cover and a possibility of scattered showers continues into the beginning of the week. Southwesterly winds are fore- cast at 15 km/hr, gusting to 20.
NEW: Nomad Creek Wildfire (K73144)
A wildfire was reported late Saturday afternoon approximately five kilometres east of Bralorne on the north side of the Kingdom Lake Forest Service Road. The local fire department, community members and BC Wildfire Service responded.
BCWS initial attack crews attended the fire along with multiple aircraft, including helicopters and air tankers. Aircraft actioned the fire along the bottom of the slope, where firefighters established hoselay before working their way up the west flank be- tween the fire and the Bralorne community. By Saturday night, personnel on scene reported fire behaviour had decreased to rank 1, which is a smouldering ground fire.
On Sunday, two unit crews along with initial attack personnel are working on the fire. Two heavy-lift helicopters are assigned to provide crews with tanking support and three further helicopters are available for bucketing. The Bendor Range Complex Incident Management Team has assumed responsibility for the Nomad Creek wildfire. Further updates will be provided as in- formation is available.
Downton Lake Wildfire (K71649)
Thirty-eight structure protection personnel continue monitoring and patrolling the east side of Gun Lake, Tyaughton and Gold Bridge, where they will extinguish any hotspots around structures, install sprinklers and other equipment if required, and re- spond to any threats to properties, structures and other values. They will also begin demobilizing equipment from structures where they’re confident it is no longer required.
An additional 84 firefighters are using results from infrared scans to identify and extinguish hotspots, particularly in priority areas where properties, structures and communities are close by. Patrols continue in the Stafford Lake Road area and along the Hornal Connector guard. Mop up is underway in the Pearson Creek area, with crews working westward. Firefighting equipment will gradually be demobilized where it’s no longer needed.
The Jones Creek fire camp for crews working on the Downton Lake wildfire is now fully operational.
1:00pm
Been off and on windy.
Bit of rain, so we are waiting to see whether to start pumps
Some of the BCWF personnel have been reassigned to the Nomad Creek (Bralorne) fire. They dropped retardant last night and put out a wet line. Trying to stop it from coming down the mountain.
A flare up on Gun Creek Rd had some locals out with hoses putting it out.
BCWF flew a drone over the South East of the Lake last night. Today the ground crews are putting that information to work and are targeting hot spots.
